READING RIDERS BOOK & BIKE RIDING CLUB
BOOK CLUB CODE OF CONDUCT
-
Arrive to club meetings on time. We want to ride before the day gets too hot. Also, we have reservations at some of our adventure sites.
-
Respect the opinions and ideas of others, even if you don’t agree. You may find you have a different opinion than someone else. Its okay to disagree but always do so respectfully. There may be more than one answer or way of looking at an issue. All opinions are welcome. No personal attacks.
-
Be open to different opinions and ideas.
-
The reading discussions will have a facilitator, and the trail rides will have group leaders. Please show your facilitator and group leaders the courtesy and respect you would like to have if you were in those positions.
-
Participate in discussions and activities. Contribute to the discussion. Our club works best when everyone participates.
-
Come Prepared. Read materials before coming to the club meeting. Spend some time before the meeting thinking about the reading.
-
Be respectful of the trails (including the plants and animals) and sites we visit.
-
Remember other people will be using the trails. Always ride on the right side of the trail and get off the trail if you have to stop.
-
Listen to others. Sometimes listening will be as important as talking. Your fellow club members want to hear your opinion, but they also want to hear from everyone else’s. Don’t interrupt or dominate the discussion. Only one person talks at a time.
-
Be honest when sharing. Say what you really thought or felt about a reading. It’s okay to dislike a reading that someone else enjoys.
-
When riding focus on what you are doing and pay attention to your surroundings.
-
Always think safety first.
-
Stay with the group. The group leader should always know where you are.
-
Make some new friends and HAVE FUN!
