After School Programs

In Ancient Greece overall education was cultivated in a well-balanced and harmonious holistic, intellectual, mental and physical development manner. BYEF has built its programming philosophy on this principle. Youth receive mental and intellectual classroom sessions focusing on nutrition education, literacy skills, bullying prevention, thinking before acting, sportsmanship and teamwork. Physical development is encouraged through basketball, bike riding, dance, and tennis. About Our Programs

The after school enrichment program consists of four to six hour meetings two to three times a week. During each meeting students meet for two hours. During one hour students are engaged in physical fitness activities that have included team basketball, introduction to tennis, dance clubs, and bike riding. During the other hour students learn chess to help them understand that actions have consequences and work on thinking before acting, participate in fun literacy activities, bullying prevention sessions, sportsmanship and teamwork activities, nutrition education classes, homework help, and book clubs.
